It doesn’t sound a lot, unless you’re in a car with leather seats and no air conditioning during a stupidly hot June bumming around the South of France…

Countless baguettes, Rosé, Pastis and tiny bottles of Kronenbourg pretty much sums up the past few weeks. A whistle stop tour of France stopping in Dijon (and an accidental pilgrimage to Reims), Castellane with some of the best mountain roads I’ve ever driven through; Loads of switch backs, evil off camber and blind corners, blocked in mountain passes, and a surface that just begs you to push the braking points that little bit further every time. Nice and a quick stop in Monaco, Le Castellet and the French Grand Prix at Paul Ricard – a nice return for Formula One since 1990. Avignon and a boat, and finally Le Mans a few weeks after the 24hrs…
